ABOUT POTTY-TRAINING

Most toddlers will begin to take interest in potty-training somewhere between the ages of 2 and 3. Every child is different, and yours may begin earlier or later than these ages. The most important thing to remember is that your CHILD should be ready! If he/she is staying dry for at least 2 hours during the day, has regular and predictable bowel movements, seems uncomfortable in soiled diapers and wants to be changed, know he/she has to use the restroom (usually by the expression on their face), can walk to and from the bathroom, can undress & dress with little assistance, these may be signs that your child is ready for potty-training.

If he/she is showing signs of interest, remember to encourage and praise your toddler when they've told you that they have soiled their diaper (or training pants) and remind them to tell you before hand the next time. Remind your child to use the potty, show them how the potty works and tell him/her what to do. If your met with resistence, avoid this battle at all cost! Return to diapering and try again in a month or so. Patience is the key to success! Pressure will only hamper the process.
